Schwarzbräu Marie Hausbrendel Hell. Very fresh tasting. Drunk from the bottle at a Halloween wedding reception 2022. Clear, lightly sweet, tasty Helles with nice balance and smooth earthy bitterness. 3.5

Bottle, danke Günther! Pale golden, white foam, fine carbonation. Dry herbal, light catty hops on sweet grains. Sticky medium to full body. Sweet cake, barely flowery, grassy finish.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Thursday 8th September 2022 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music cooking Mousakka. Pours clear gold with a white head, nice bitterness, but there is a little cereal and fruitiness, a little dryness. Quite good.

Schwarzbräu Ex & Hop, die bayerische Interpretation eines Pale Ales, Fläschchen aus Lokaltausch DE 3 - schönen Dank an Roman! - Trüb goldgelb, unmäßiger Schaum. - In der Nase milder aber gediegener, leicht exotisch-zitrusfruchtiger Aromahopfen - Simcoe, Summit und Cascade nennt das Etikett -, leichte Frucht (Mango, Pfirsich), zarte obergärige Hefe, etwas Honig. - Antrunk schlank und spritzig exotisch-zitrusfruchtig hopfig, nur wenig herb, leicht. Zarte Grapefruit; blasses helles Malz, zart vanillesüß. Milder rezent, schlank. Im Abgang schöne aber nur wenig herbe Zitrusfrucht. - Aromatisch hopfenbetontes aber luftiges Bier, sehr angenehm. Laut Etikett ein Pale Ale, laut RAB ein Lager - wer hat recht? Im Zweifelsfall doch eher der Brauer, würde ich sagen. Tatsächlich hat das Bier zarte obergärige Noten, wirkt im Malz aber auch Lager-artig sauber. (25.8.2022.)

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Monday 8th August 2022 sat outside listening Marc Riley on 6 Music with Katy J Pearson in session tonight, we had a One-Tray Roast Fish with Brothy White Beans, Capers and Lemon. Pours light gold with a mid sized white head, some sweeteness, citrus and grainy edge initially. Very soft moutheel, quite straightforward but a little too safe.

Bottle with Munich Ratebeer Tasting group and consumed at Jonas's 2nd August 2022. Pours light/mid gold with a little haze and white head. Simple but well executed, nicely subtle, light floral, light fruity, good.
