Autumn Brew Review 2015. Black. Smoke is there in the aroma and the flavor, sweet wheat still comes through and is blended with the sweet flavors of the dunkelweizen, along with roasted malt. Smoke character could be stronger, but still a good beer.

Links, Chicago tap: pours murky brown with a white head. Aroma is ham and smoke. There is also a hint of booze and wood. Taste is moderately smoky... Really not as smoky as some other rauches. Malty backbone. With light german style hops making a little appearance. Mellow smoked.

Autumn Brew Review 2015. Nice, smooth black palate and appearance. 7.8 seems high for a schwarzbier. Some very mild smoke. Grain is heavily roasted, almost burnt.

Sampled from the tap at the 2015 Minnesota Winterfest. Pours a clear gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of pine, light fruits, citrus and an earthy grain backbone. Flavor has a good amount of grass with some light pine, light fruit and a good amount of earthy grains.

At all pints north. Smoke is light. Heavy roast. Just a hint of smoke but it is dry. Could use more smoke aroma.

Enjoyed on tap at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, MN while eating some food with friends. Overall, it’s not bad and a unique pale ale, darker than others I’ve had, smoke adds an interesting dynamic while mix with juniper, which makes this dry. Probably wouldn’t seek this one out again though.

Another ambor colored beer. This one has a larger head. Very dry and bitter. Pine and oak dryness, but I do not think this was barrel aged. Dry aftertaste.
