Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has bread and a bit of dark grains backed by a bit of whiskey/sweetness. Flavor has dark bread and dark grains with a nice whiskey finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has rye and grain with some leaves and a bit of smoky wood notes underlying. Flavor has rye, bread and wood up front with some grass coming through in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a near clear amber gold with an off white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has grassy and floral notes with underlying citrus and light grain. Flavor combines earthy grains, grass and flora with a bit of bread backing.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has lots of earthy dark grains with a bit of wood and earthy pine. Flavor has dark grains and bread up front with some grass and pine growing through the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoked note with a bit of sweet grains and bread underlying. Flavor combines bread and smoke with a bit of sweetness underlying.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a creamy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of roasted malts with dark chocolate and a bit of smokiness. Flavor has dark grains with growing roasted malts supported by smoke and bitter chocolate.

Sampled from the tap at New Bohemia. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of smokey wheat with a jerky like nose and a touch of sweetness. Flavor has a lot of earthy smoke with a bit of a leather and hint of sweetness.

Sampled from the tap at Republic. Pours a hazy deep amber with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has some smoke and oak with pine hops underlying. Flavor starts with smoke and oak but transitions into more of a pine and resin finish with the oak and smoke backing.

Draft. Light herbal toffee malt aroma. Cloudy brown with moderate head. Black tea, light toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Light body. Easy drinking.

ABR 2014. Not a lot going on here. Dry hop flavor and dry malt, some citrus hops but I don’t pick up the blueberry at all.
