Tap at Hammerheart. Aroma with spices, but it is hard for me to tell what they are. Sweet, which I attribute to the wheat, with some smoke, thick palate and a fair amount of carbonation.

Tap at Hammerheart. Black with low carbonation and a smooth palate, very little head on this beer. Very dry, with heavily roasted malt, coffee, and oatmeal flavor. Sadly I don’t pick up the brandy. Dry, grain finish.

Tap at Hammerheat. I liked this more than some of the other raters. Full malt flavor with a good infusion of hops. Full palate. Good.

This should be classified as a smoked beer. Light smoke and mild malt flavors, almost like a smoked mild really, especially considering the low alcohol. Golden ales are rarely good, this is an exception.

Tap at Hammerheart. Plum and raisin aroma. Sweet with dried fruit, and a light quality of smoke and ash that actually works quite well. I’m not sure this was intentional or due to the proximity of the other smoked beers, but it worked out very well.

Tap at Hammerheart. Very light smoke in the aroma, it smells great and I wish the smoke was more intense. Lightly sweet malt and bitter with hops. The smoke works well, and I wish it were more intense.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #7. Draft at The Beer Trappe, Lexington. Ppurs a slightly hazy dark maple color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, earth, dark fruit and a mild bit of roast. The taste is toffee, cherries, mild chocolate, mild roasted malts and herbal hops. Medium bodied, moderate heat, low carbontion. Solid.

On tap @ HammerHeart. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a. Brown head. A touch minty / herbal, caraway / greeny spicy, caramel aroma. Flavor is very epic forward with a touch of smoke, lots of greens / herbal, and some toasted malty / caramel / brown sugar notes. Kind of interesting but not something I’d really want to drink a pint of.

On tap @ HammerHeart. Pours a dark red appearance with a tan head. Twangy grape, whisky / woody, caramel, vanilla aroma. Light veggie / woody / herbal, caramel, burnt / tar, brown sugar flavor. A bit thin. Sad to say that I didn’t like this Minnesota Homer Society release.
