Tap at Mellow. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a small head that dissipates. Lovely smoked malt nose with some caramel, apple and light toasted coconut. Light and easy drinking. Alcohol well hidden. On tap at Pizza Lucé downtown. Pours a clear copper with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a decent amount of grain and hay supported by a nice smoke note. Flavor has more of a pine and grain combination with a growing smoke presence.

On tap at Republic Seven Corners. Pours a hazy earthy orange with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has an interesting combination of grass, light citrus and smoke with a bit of earthy pine and grain backing. Flavor mainly has an earthy smoke with a growing pine and grapefruit note plus and decent amount of grain backing.

Minnesota Trip Beer #155. Keg at the brewery, 5/11/16. Dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, smoke, dark fruit. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, mild smoke. Medium-full bodied, well balanced, lingering roastiness.

Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a clear deep orange gold with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a sweet smoke with sweet grains and a bit of pork backing. Flavor has sweet smoke with applewood and some sweet grains underlying.
