Bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma is full of smoke with some peat and some sweet grains and a bit of hay underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and light smoke with a bit of peat and a touch of hay.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a slight rustiness and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of smoke and juniper with a touch of light sweet grains and underlying. Flavor has sweet smoke and earthy juniper with and a bit of sweet grains underlying.

On tap at Republic. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma is full of dark grains supported by bourbon, roasted malts and a hint of dark chocolate backing. Flavor has a combination of dark grains, roasted malts and bourbon with a touch bitter chocolate supporting.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong smoke note supported by roast, dark grains and a touch of bourbon. Flavor has more dark grains and bourbon up front but finish is strong smoke.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a very cloudy amber brown with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma a good amount of aquavit with a juniper bite, light fruits and grains backing. Flavor has juniper up front with aquavit and grains supporting.

8 5 8 3 16 Bottle shared, thanks! (10.5%) Black with a big dark beige head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, coffee, oak, licorice, toffee and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and above moderate bitter. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft yet slightly prickly carbonation.

Sampled from the tap at Minnesota Winterfest 2017. Pours a hazy deep brown with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a slightly smokey note with some sweet grains and a bit of earthiness underlying. Flavor has notes of bourbon, smoke, sweet grains, caramel and a touch of bread backing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a pale straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoked meat note with wheat and a hint of straw underlying. Flavor has the same smoked meat with earthy wheat note supporting.
