Lager like one in a hundred, but still one of the best in Romania. More bitter and less watery than the rest.

Can. It pours a dark brownish golden body and a dense but small, light beige head. Lightly caramel and choclate smelling, with a light almost buttery hint, in a pleasant way. Pleasant carbonation, medium to full body, with flavors of caramel, roasted malts notes, some chocolate hints and a faint touch of alcohol. Pretty much the same in the end. Didn’t expect a beer this good from Romania. 120516

Bottle. A clear one, rather pale golden in color and with a small, white head on top. The aroma has a decent dose of hops, as well as lightly bready maltyness. Some fruityness too. Quite decent actually. There’s a metallic touch in the end, a respectable bitternes too, with semi-dry maltyness initially. Medium body, quite dry. A decent one, nothing impressive, but sure drinkable. 120516

My son has moved to a new area in London and is now surrounded by Eastern Europeans, I picked up this beer and a few others when visiting the other week. Half litre green bottle, best before 25 May 2011, drank and reviewed late April 2011. The label claimed 5.4% ABV. Pale gold in colour, wispy white head and collar: no lacing and what head there was left after ten seconds! No aroma, gets my regular 3 for a non-smelling pils/lager. Hops fairly prominent, but not really strong or heavy in any aspect of the beers flavours or taste, you just knew they were there. The drying aftertaste didn’t help this beers cause and although it would obviously be refreshing on a hot summers day it didn’t flaot my boat in any way at all.
