Bottle. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A big sweet cocoa nose. The flavor is big sweet cocoa, roast, hot, vanilla and bourbon. Very good. Huge.

750 ml bottle. Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A big healthy stout nose with dark fruit, leather and vanilla. The flavor is wonderful; huge dark fruit, prunes, vanilla, bourbon sweetness in the middle. The drinkability is very high. Sweet but not cloying. Lovely big beast. I wonder if the base beer is made (non BA), it is damn good. One of the best Impys I’ve had in a while.

Bottle. Pours a murky brown copper color with a large white head. A big fruity nose, toffee, brown sugar. The flavor is toast, big sweet malts, pine and citrus hops, bitterness from the hops, a sweet sugary toffee and earthy malt base. Very smooth, awesome BW.

A strange one. The sweetness makes it feel thin but the oily cacao makes for a huge mouthfeel. Unbalanced but quite tasty...

Draught at EBF, 2016.
Deep black body is topped by a well-retained tan head. Low clarity.
Obvious coconut in the nose but it’s not overdone and seems to go hand-in-hand with the bourbon character, as dark fruits, spice and strong roast add to the aroma as well. Not terribly boozey for 12.4%, though there certainly is some notable. Lots of vanilla, dry toffee and plum/raisin. Very powerful nose, for sure.
Quite chocolatey up front, with strongly bitter roast, tons of bourbon flavor and a vanilla-coconut-caramel finish that is quite sweet. Soft, hugely malty texture with low, but ample carbonation and a bit of heat on the end that mixes with moderate barrel tannin. Rich and hugely flavorful but lacks a bit in the finesse category, that’s for sure.

Draft Extreme Beer Fest 2016. Pitch black color, thin tan head. Aroma shows big bourbon, brownie batter, and coconut.
Flavor is rich. Bourbon gives a great balance to the coconut flakes, chocolate and roast. The body is full brownie character with a lasting mellow bourbon finish. Coconut flakes linger after the sip. Very well crafted imperial stout. After sampling this I need to make a trip to New Jersey!

Draft at Barcade, 1/11/16. Murky, dirty put, almost yoohoo like color and consistency. Sweet aroma of apple juice, Belgian yeast and some spice. Tastes much the same with a sweeter start leading to spice and a bit of booziness on the close. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Decent, ugly, but decent.
