Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber to brown, fluffy off-white head. Nose - toffee, brown bread and going into malt loaf. Taste - chewy toffee and caramel, more malt loaf. Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle, lightly roasty finish. Overall - good example of the style.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A dowdy looking golden amber pour with a ring of white head; stone fruit aroma; biscuity malt body with a fruity taste; and a dry finish. A refreshing summer ale.

7/3/2024. Tap at Flat Iron Square, London. Pours cloudy pale orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is creamy, milky, mango sorbet. Started a little bitter but sweetness develops well without being overpowering. Light to moderate body, a little thin (doesn’t hide its abv), low carbonation. Warmed to it.

Taste is malt, grain, biscuit, tangy, fruity, flowery with citrus, pine and hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying hoppy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

500ml bottle: BBE January 2024. Drank at home on 27th October 2023. Mahogany coloured body, clean and clear, decent off-white crown. Lovely traditional English Bitter feel to this, caramel sweetness tempered with some serious hop action for a bitter finish. --- Beer aliased from original tick of West Berkshire Good Old Boy on 20 Feb 2015 at 14:11 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: 20th Feb 2015: hand-pulled half-pint in my local Wetherspoons. Ruby with an off-white head that gave some heavy and impressive lacing. Red berries, hedgerow fruits and roasted maltiness in both the nose and taste. Semi-sweet with a caramel hint throughout, mild bitterness in the finish, I liked it.
