Clear and golden with a frothy / creamy white head and soft cereal and a hint of lemons on the nose. Smooth and light, there’s a little citrus kick up front, light malt and floral hops to follow with a dry bitter finish

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. There’s dark fruits and roasted malts in the aroma. In the mouth it hovers between bitter and sweet with dark fruits very prominent in the flavour. There’s a creamy texture with roasted malts, raspberries and plums with hints of chocolate and berry fruits coming later. A little spiciness in the finish. This is rather nice – the plums are very evident but don’t overwhelm.

Cask at Three Fishes, Shrewsbury (at 3.6%). Pours lemon yellow with a medium sized foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and biscuits in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with just a little underlying sharpness. Flavour is malts and caramel with some hints of citrus and herbs and spices coming through later. This is reasonable.

Hand pulled half pint in The St Georges' Sports and Social Club during a good friends wake; RIP Paul. The beer is Pale in name and in it's looks, white crown on a light golden body, clean and clear once it has settled down. Semi sweet with a hidden subtle bitterness, slight citrus leanings and unassuming in nature.

Cask at Wellington, Brum. Aroma is non-existent - perhaps some bitterness. Clear gold. Thick foamy white head. Cask at Wellington, Brum. Flava combines sweet citrus and malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Way to sugary sweet. Otherwise light and fluffy.
