On tap at Crucible, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out some pithy stone fruits and restrained dank hops. Flavour is pretty subdued, with light dank hops, tons of citrus and a touch of pithy stone fruits. Not the most complex or refined NE IPA, but it's pleasant.

On tap at Crucible, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out tons of blood oranges upfront with little else to speak of. Flavour is very juicy and loaded with blood orange. Not much else to speak of yet again. Juicy, orangey and very thirst-quenching. Very nice orange bomb.

On tap at Crucible, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light herbal notes and some straw. Flavour is quite herbal and spicy, with some light vegetal character. Fairly authentic, with a solid cabbage crunch on the finish. Decent.

Years and years of enjoying fun anniversary inspired beers from places and breweries all over, that had moderate, to low personal interest to me. With this beer, I celebrate the anniversary of a place that I’ve been going to since before I even knew the greatness of the craft beer world, and all the things that go with it. Before I knew that beer wasn’t just beer, but a way to start great conversation. A way for complete strangers to become great friends in an instant, because we share this one fascinating thing in common. Special Brews was where I discovered these things for the first time, and for that, I say cheers to you guys! It’s been an absolute pleasure hanging out with you guys since the early days, when I was wondering around South Everett, trying to figure out where this damn bottle shop I heard had just opened up. 5+ years down (and one big wall as well) later, this place has evolved into one of the premier beer places in our local. The first thing I was thinking was, it’s going to take one hell of an IPA to properly celebrate these guys. They did a good job. Enjoyed this on draft at the place of honor, then filled a growler at home, because this is my ideal baseball beer. Golden orange pour with a ton of foam head. A slight haze to it. A soft grassy and citrus fruit paired hop aroma. Very pleasant. Flavor is cool and refreshing. A beer that belongs in crowlers to be enjoyed by the multiple pints full. Juicy orange fruit, moderate hop bitter. A crusher of an IPA. Cheers to one of my very favorite places on their milestone. A solid beer to celebrate with.

Draft pour pint at Triplehorn, Woodinville. Habenero gose paired with Nacho Mama’s spicy cheeseburger nachos. Quite the pair, a lot like the two breweries involved in this brew. Hazy golden pour with a fading head. Obvious pepper impression up front on the aroma. Salty pepper like. Flavor is a green pepper front, mild heat, but it gets hotter as it lingers. A soft mango like fruit background. Apple too. Has a pepper cider feel to it, almost as much as it does a beer. A light beer feel, and would be fantastic in the summer for pepper beer fans of any level. Cool and refreshing, with the peppers adding to the fun. Excellent beer.

Draft 8 oz pour at Crucible, Everett. Slightly hazy orange pour with a thin, fading foam head. Very fruity hop aroma. Melon, juicy flavor. The melon is nice, but has an odd paired flavor. A modest sweetness, that actually goes nicely with this. An easy drinking IPA. Swell.

Draft 8 oz pour at Crucible, Everett. Pours black with a thin, disappearing head. Very thick and chocolatey. Bitter too. Thick, roasted malt, bold dark chocolate, lingering cocoa bitterness. A good sipper of a stout. Pretty good.

Haze, nice orange juice hops. No sign of oats but that’s a nice, bright hop character. Very quaffable.

Sweet and light phenols, light brown. Ok dubbel. Not complex but no glaring flaws. I guess I’ll take that.
