Can at home in Hackney - picked up from the local big Tesco. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Light sweet flavour with some citric hops, lean pale biscuits, mild crispy hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly clean finish. Not bad, easygoing.

Cask ale at Barrel Vault, half pint shared with Finn. Wetherspoon Beer Festival, March 24. Nice in the glass with its rustic black body, fawn-coloured head, and scattered lacing. Lightly roasted grainy malt on the nose, mid-sweet. Prominent caramel flavours with a backdrop of coffee. Slightly roasted ending, mid-sweet. Nice. (London, 16.03.2024).

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Lidl Culemborg. Clear amber with a white head. Malty aroma with some flowery hops. Sweet taste with a fairly bitter finish. Nice English IPA but not very fresh.

Cask at the Shakespeare's Head Spoons. Almost clear but very dark brown reddish beer, good tan head. Airy smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, quite pleasant, a light earthyness with mellow dark malt cream. Vague chocolate, candyish, lingers in the background. Bramling Cross bring their blackberry loveliness on the back end. All comes together rather well into a mild but tasty and quaffable affair. Much better than I would have expected.

Keg @ No.2 Baker Street, Stirling. Golden with a light carbonation and a head. Hopped, crisp, but quite bland too. It could be a sessionable tap option though.

Cask at Square Peg, Birmingham. Pours almost black with minimal tan head and good lacing. The aroma is an enticing mix of raosted malts and oats. Roasted malts again to the more in the mouth which good helpings too of chocolate, carmae and toffee and hints of ash. Slightly bitter and perhaps a bit watery with a slightly spicy finish. This is a decent well balanced beer that is a pleasure to drink.
