The Eagle Brewery was previously a Charles Wells brewery site and became part of Marston's (Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company) wider business in May 2017. The Eagle Brewery continued to brew many of the former Charles Wells brewery brands sold to Marston's including brands such as Bombardier, Courage, and McEwan's.

The site of the Eagle Brewery was sold by the Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) to S.A. Damm (Grupo Damm) in November 2022, and became Damm Eagle Brewery (this is listed separately). The Eagle brands remained with CMBC. Carlsberg purchased the remaining Marston share in 2024, and Carlsberg Britvic was formed in 2025. The Eagle beer brands thus become fully owned by Carlsberg Britvic.

Certain brands (Courage, McEwan’s and Young’s) are still produced by Carlsberg either at Northampton or Burton. These live brands have been moved to sit under Carlsberg's head office in Northampton.

This entry will remain for historic Eagle Bedford beers which, with very few exceptions, were discontinued prior to or shortly after the sale of Eagle Brewery to Damm and not moved to Northampton or Burton for ongoing production.

A 500 ml can purchased at a small liquor store on the main drag in Hamilton, Bermuda. Store owner was concerned that I was buying a potent beer, be careful he said. Okay, I am being careful this afternoon on my patio looking at my backyard. Flipping the top and taking a smell. Hmm, your essential pilsner scent. The taste is pleasant for the style, a jazzed up pilsner. Corn, grain, water, just a touch sweet. Nothing to be offended by or be very concerned about.

50 cl. bottle @ Rick, Bought @ Lidl, Culemborg. Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Nutty caramel aroma with some faint English hops. Sweet taste with a medium bitter finish. Solid bitter.

Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Nutty caramel aroma with some faint English hops. Sweet taste with a medium bitter finish.
Solid bitter.

500ml bottle. Pours clear amber, off-white head of foam. Aroma of ryebread, nutty malts. Medium to light bodied, dark nutty malt appears to rule the overall character, gently sweet, nicely rounded. A good olde ale for a winters night.

14.06.2021 - 0.5l bottle from lidl in grenzach, bb 28.02.2022. pours a clear deep amber with a small head. mild aroma of wood and caramel malts. flavour of wood, grass, minerals, caramel, plum wine. easy drinking.

Reddish copper with a frothy head that fades away. Aroma might best be described as banana flavored bubblegum. Taste is mildly sweet with an artificial feel. The long, lingering banana note at the end though goes better, halfway genuine, and makes for a decent finish. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation. Not much depth overall but drinkable.
