Description
Urban Artifact is Ohio’s home for sour beer; located in the historic St. Patrick’s church in Cincinnati. With a special emphasis on fruit beers, they have created a niche with their signature overfruited Midwest Fruit Tart style focusing on balance, drinkability, and real fruit. Brewing a bevy of different sour beers, from the standard German style gose, to the exotic spontaneously fermented barrel aged sour with a wide variety of different fruits, there is sure to be something new and exciting to explore. We are currently on pace to use over 400,000 lbs of real fruit this year alone!
Our Northside, Cincinnati taproom is open seven days a week, with food service provided by Wildfire Pizza Kitchen. We host live music five nights a week at the Radio Artifact Live stage, and make the historic church sanctuary, The Reliquary, available for receptions and events.
Radio Artifact, the Urban Artifact hosted independent music radio, can be listened to on 91.7FM HD2 in Cincinnati or live streaming online at radioartifact.com

From a can $2. Pour is light brown tint on pale, slight haze. Nose is surprisingly boozy fruit. First taste is quite tart with a little bit of candy sugar. Another swig identifies a pretty good level of co2. Not bad, in teh middle I'm finding it quite agreeable. Wifey don't like beer, but she seems to like this; so I guess there's not much beer flavor in this, its hard to find, hehehh. Not bad overall, finishes with a decent fru-fru-fruity malt beverage attitude.

Pours a hazy red with a small head. It certainly smells of tart raspberries. The berries dominate the pleasantly tart flavor too. Good.

Can from the December 2024 Small Batch Society. The beer is a slightly cloudy banana color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to a dense film. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of banana, chocolate and malt. Medium body with flavors of ripe sweet-tart banana, chocolate malt and a bit of spice. The finish is like chocolate banana bread. Good beer all around.

Can from the December 2024 Small Batch Society. The beer is a hazy bright reddish-orange color with a medium bone white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, coconut and malt. Medium body with flavors of sweet-tart orange, toasted coconut and malt. The finish is coconut up front with a citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Wow, this beer was a very good surprise! I was leery of this because the label made me think this was just another fruity malt beverage allky bomb. It is not! Listed here as a fruit beer, it probably should be in the wild beer or lambic category. When I first started sipping his stuff it reminded me of lindeman's frambois. Yes, when I popped the lid on this can it smelled like. mild raspberries, tart to the olfactory and it made my mouth water. The look of this stuff is also nice, it appears deep purple and cloudy. And, don't forget to swish the can when you pour it; its lovely down in there! Taste is fantastically wild and tart, but it doesn't ever let you forget its a beer! I found nothing artificial about this brew what so ever. Very satisfying beer drinken session. Excellent palate with good sizzle as well. I got another one of these capy's and can't wait to taste it. Big thanks UA! Could drink a few of these with a prob!
