Description
Fremont Brewing was born of our love for our home and history as well as the desire to prove that beer made with the finest local ingredients β organic when possible --, is not the wave of the future but the doorway to beer's history. Starting a brewery in the midst of the Great Recession is clearly an act of passion. We invite you to come along with us and enjoy that passion -- because beer matters.

Bottle with thanks to Prufrockstar! Pours cloudy mahogany with a small tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is a nice blend of bourbon, dark sugars, raisin, cocoa and vanilla. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and light bitter with notes of bourbon, molasses and vanilla. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Light woody astringency, some heat from the ABV. Pretty darn nice beer.

Bottle shared by Jeff. There is bourbon but it is not overpowering, and the other flavors and aromas are still there. Heavily roasted malt and some hops also. Thick palate. Good.

Can shared by Bob, thanks. Gold color. Some sweetness and I do taste some apple, but the flavor and aromas are light and there is not much here. I didnβt enjoy this as much as the other raters in the group.

22oz black waxed bomber courtesy of riversideAK, thanks again Alex! This pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malts and smooth sweet estery prunes and dates and then a pleasing mix of molasses and soft smooth sweet bourbon. Wow! The taste is smooth rich goodness with molasses, malts and then brown sugar stewed prunes and dates and ripe dark red cherries. It then gets into a smooth sweet bourbon goodness as the finish approaches creating a terrific depth and balance to this stellar sipper of a beer. Love it.

Pour is a almost black with a small white head. Aroma is chocolate malt with some deep roast but also a nice hop. Flavor is more of the roasted malt with a surprisingly hoppy backbone. Finish is a little sweet and bitter. Decent winter warmer. None of the flavors really overpowers the other but they are all there.

22 oz. bottle, sent from roblock303 (thanks a lot, Rob), pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is pretty decadent, with notes of roasted malt, oatmeal, chocolate, and various candied dessert. Flavour brings out oats, candied sugar, booze, and smoked roasted malt. Pretty potent, yet not the most complex impie stout. Decently balanced enough, yet quite hot and sugary. Decent stuff, though there lots of jagged edges.

Bottle thanks to Lizzy and Daren! Pours a very dark brown with a creamy brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a strong booze and bourbon note with molasses and caramel underlying. Flavor starts with some darker grains and molasses with a growing boozy and bourbon note through the finish as well as a touch of roast..

22 oz. bottle. Black wax top with 9.5 % ABV. Bottle share by Adam. consumed at room temp. Thin tan head sitting on a itch black liquid. Nose is damn nice, rich caramel, dark chocolate and brownie batter. The flavor here tastes like it was aged a few years and it has not, fresh vintage. Rich chocolate integrated well with the bourbon. The bourbon is not hot at all, really impressive. No alcohol can be found in flavor or after the sip. Bitterness is light. I cant stop drinking this.... unreal stout.
