Tap @ Hoprevolution Vol. 2. Aroma is floral and grassy, fresh with some citrus. Possible to detect some resiny notes also, feels like a dry but hoppy IPA. Taste is sharply bitter, somewhat one-sided because of that, there is no malt roundness to balance out the bite of hops. Aftertaste is raisiny, bitter, grapefruit peels. This beer could be more balanced, right now itβs a "one trick pony".

5.5% a clear amber brown with an off-white head. Malty caramel, grains with some citrusy hops in the aroma. The taste is fairly neutral, mild caramel, grains, slightly bitter finish. Not as sweet as Iβd expect from an amber ale, more of a solid all around ale that doesnβt disappoint nor does it really please. As average as can be. As I drink it with my meal it grows on me with more maltiness coming through & a nice full mouthfeel-very satisfying. Itβs quite bready, it went from average to I like it over the course of a bottle.

6% bottle from Rakuten, served in a fluted glass. Classic IPA orange-gold pour with a thick head of foam. Fruity, minty aroma with a medium body. It has a bitter flavor with some citrus notes but the malts come off kind of harsh & grainy. The aroma is much nicer than the taste.

5% beer made with hard water from Kita-Kamakura. This was a gusher when opened, served in a pint glass. The color is pretty spot on amber brown with a beige head & a malty, caramel & toffee aroma-tasty. effervescent zesty carbonation, full body, bready, sweet, light caramel & toffee. Not cloying, a solid amber with a dry finish that has a slight citrus quality to it.

330 ml bottle from Precce @ Nakameguro. Stout that is brewed with black cane sugar, interesting! Pours dark dark brown with a nice head that reduces into beautiful lacing. Aroma is thick roasted malt together with some caramel sweetness. Charred black bread. Taste is not as sweet as I dreaded - initial carbonation kick gets your tongue tingling, followed by roasted bread, coffee-caramel bitterness, ending up in a sweet aftertaste. Black sugar is difficult to spot, it is well balanced with some hop bitterness and malty bread. Mouthfeel is nice and not too watery. Well done!

Bottle shared during GBBF 2013 Day 4 - London. Big thanks to KyotoLefty. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose is all milk chocolate and vanilla. Light to medium sweet flavor with sugary fruits and vanilla pods. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet in the end with more sugary milk chocolate and vanilla. Simplistic but enjoyable.
