Pours a nice clear russet from a bottle, thick off-white head. Not much aroma, slightly yeasty and whole grain bread. I don't notice any spice or citrus whatsoever. Same in the flavor. Weird. Really insipid. Okay beer, not bad, just not good.

Hazy light copper coloured body with more of a golden honey glow and a very thick, six to seven centimetre tall off-white head that starts high and fades quite quickly. Aroma of grasses, flowers, light spices, coriander seed, some light anise and a touch of apples and pears along with bunches of yeast and funky qualities - nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy qualities at first with a big dose of grain and herbal notes right behind. Some light sugars from fruit and a touch of spices, such as the coriander seed and a little bit of curacao adds some sweetness and citrus to the mix. Aftertaste is quite dry with some white pepper and tarragon around along with a touch of sweetness from the citrus and even a little from the fruits. Overall, a nice, dry and herbal saison with a big kick from the grass, yeast and white pepper notes - nice and showing a lot of character throughout. Nice to sample, especially fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 23-February-2018 for US$4,99 sampled on the roof of my hotel on 26-February-2018 here in New York.

Draught @ Solid State. Clear golden with very small frothy off-white head, faint hay aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter honey-malt taste, thin body, medium finish. Fair, nothing spectacular.

Bricolage, Brooklyn tap: pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is blood orange, malt and spice. Taste is spicy with that Italian blood orange soda feelings. Malty and stuff. Not bad.

500 ml bottle from Sparrow. Pours a slightly murky darker yellowish color with a thick, rocky foam of off-white head. Big funky, farmhouse aroma with some underling tropical and lemon-rind notes. Dough, cheese, a little horse blanket. Very brett-forward, heavy carbonation, rather dry close.

Draught @ The Ginger Man. Clear amber with large creamy off-white head, faint caramel malt aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter caramel malt taste with dried fruits, and alcohol undertones, smooth body, long caramel malt finish with alcohol aftertaste. A bit boozy.

Raisin, some smoke like you don't understand what you're drinking and florals. Good balance for style, though some imperfection in aftertaste. Amber red pour. Tap at Rattle n Hum.
