Willblake sent this fine brew. Possibly this was beginning to sour when I tried it. The pour was all gushy foam with a smoky slightly sour aroma. The flavor had lots of chocolate with a chalky mouthfeel. Somewhat like a Porter or Brown Ale.

Slightly hazy orange coloured body with golden highlights and a thin white head. Aroma of fake strawberres, icing sugars, light hops and some odd fresh scents. Light-bodied; Tart, acidic flavour with strong carbonation and little else. Aftertaste shows freshness and more pale flavours. Overall, an acceptable fruit beer, but not anything great. I was lucky enough to sample this twelve ounce bottle purhased by jon[r888710] at Chevy Chase Wne & Liquors in Washington, D.C.

Secret Santa beer #5, sent by Jason (Dorwart). Deep brown body with red highlights; thin tan head that dissipates to a ring of carbonation. Roasted malt aroma with hints of milk chocolate. Flavor is dominated by woody roast with bittersweet chocolate providing light sweetness. Fairly thin-bodied and not all that complex. I was hoping for more lactose character and a touch more sweetness to emphasize the "milk" part of the beer’s name. Decent nonetheless.

Hazy amber coloured body with a nice small frothy tan head. Aroma of strong fresh hops, caramel, malt and a good amount of raisins. Medium-bodied; Strong malt backbone is noticed first, then followed by a prevalent hop flavour. Aftertaste shows some bitter and acidic (at the same time) malt with a light hoppiness. Overly tart finish composed of hops and some of the light fruity sugars. Aftertaste not reminiscent of the taste at all-a wierd finish! Overall, a good beer from the start, but it doesn’t finish too strong. Try their Milk Stout or another brand’s Pale Ale. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 16-October-2004 at the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Clear, slightly hazy orange coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of bright grapefruit hops, some malt and a tiny bit of sweetness. Light-bodied; Bright assertive hoppiness with malt very noticeable and a slight drying feeling. Aftertaste bright and short-lived. Overall, a decent pils, nothing special-just mild all-around. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 28-August-2004 at the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Pitch black colour with a thin brown head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and lactic qualities. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with coffee and lactic tastes again. Overall, very nice and good throughout. I sampled this on ’pseudo-draught’ at the Old Dominion Brew Festival 2004 on 27-June-2004 in Ashburn, Virginia.

A pitch black beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. The flavor is slightly sour with powerful notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee on a dry background.

Milk chocolate nose. Its brown :-). I mostky got coffeeground flavors, otherwise what the guys below said. Light to medium body.

Bottled. Cloudy reddish brown, minimal head. Light strawberry aroma. Sweet and soft, huge on toffee with strawberry fudge accompanying it. Most fruit wheats are sticky sweet, this is balanced. There are some grassy hops alongside all the toffee in the finish.

Bottle from Kaya in Pittsburgh. I don’t really know if the Amish are allowed to make beer. Amber colored with a medium thin light beige head. Very little lacing. The aroma is lightly malty with hops in the background. Rather light body with a crisp character. Earthy hops flavor at first but it falls off pretty quickly. The grain is there but not as much as expected. The finish is lightly hoppy with a touch of malt. Passable but the Amish should stick to butter churning and leave beer brewing to monks and such.
