Draft. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, and butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, butter, and fruit, leading to a dry finish.

24 February 2019. Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! Hazy dark brown to black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, mocha, toast, burnt caramel, black olive, sweet tobacco, candied plum, banana, raisin. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of candied banana, burnt caramel, licorice & chocolate, only light roasted bitter then, with toast, mocha, more (spicy) licorice, some dark fruits (raisin, fig) and a touch of ripe pear rendering it slightly phenolic. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, quite phenolic still, lingering licorice & burnt caramel, and a good dash of warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, slick-oily texture, soft carbonation. I wasn't disappointed but I still expected more (due to the name, more of a Moersleutel-like thick black brew).

sample shared @ Bruges Beer Festival 2019 day 1. with 77ships, tderoeck and nathanvc. F: big, white, average retention. C: deep gold, hazy. A: orange, tangerine, bit passion fruits, mango, pineapple. T: the same as in aroma, medium body and soft carbonation, nice fruity and good balanced but somehow I expected more hoppy character because of name, enjoyed.

3 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Cloudy black with a big, lasting, foamy, dark beige head; lots of lacing. Aroma of raisin, blackcurrant, blue plum, mocha, milk chocolate, chocolate mousse, soy milk, brownie dough, vanilla, custard & crème brûlée. Taste is medium malty sweet, lots of chocolate & brownie dough in balance with fruity notes of raisin & blackcurrant; a nutty edge initiates a light roasted bitterness that carries mocha, roasted nuts & toast. Dryish, toasty, bit earthy hoppy finish, lingering dark fruit & chocolate, and a subtle dash of warming whisky alcohol to top it off. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Restrained in typical Stout roastedness, but thanks to that a very smooth one.

Quite nice with tasty yeast profile that goes well in the beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lupulin Monster on 09 Feb 2019 at 20:35 - Score: 7.

Hazy golden/blond colour, creamy white foam. Nose of tropical fruit, American hops. Taste is light sweet, hoppy, some pine and tropical fruit, maybe a bit too yeasty.
