Description
Twisted Barrel Ale exploded onto the Coventry beer scene on 29th March 2014.
After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry's patrons thirsting for our unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods we launched our beers at Coventry's number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success. Originally brewing on a 60 litre kit, we described ourselves as 'the UK's first Pico-brewery'.
20th June 2015 and we held another launch. This time in our brand new Brewery and Tap House at FarGo Village. With a new 1000 litre brewing kit and an entirely new brand design from Stewart Easton, we've finally become the brewery we always set out to be. Almost 2 years later we transferred our bar and brewing kit into a space about 5 times larger than before, we're still serving the best beer at FarGo Village.

330ml bottle from Bargain Booze, Bramhall Lane, Stockport. Pours lightly haxy yellow gold, white top. Aroma of wheat, banan esters. Taste: wheat, lightly smoked malts, hint of vanilla. The expected banana esters didn't really show too much in the flavour. Medium body, soft carb, lightly spicy finish

Cask at the Reading Beer Festival. Hazy golden-amber. Soapy floral aroma and taste. A little orange comes through but no chocolate. Washing-up liquid is the theme here. Not good. Bit of a shame for something that I realised afterwards was my 2,500th rate.

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours murky gold with a creamy, white head. Nice fruit smoothie aroma, lots of tangerine, some vanilla. Light-medium sweet flavour, some pale bread, soft rindy bitterness, a little yeast, more tangerine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and flinty on the finish, some rindy. bitterness, pithy grapefruit. Not bad overall.

Can. Cloudy darkish gold beer, very big cream colour head. Candy tropical fruits on the snout. Palate is airy and fairly dry, good fine carbonation. Light malts, sweetish. Candy tropical fruits carry over from the nose, a bit of a milkshake IPA vibe here as well. Spicy bitterness sits alongside, not entirely comfortably. Light semi dry finish. Long bitter linger. Interesting but perhaps a tad more appealing to the head than the heart.

Can split at Bodney, thanks to Dave, 12/04/18. Hazed golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is fresh grass, citric peel, orange, melon, toasted bread. Taste comprises tangerines, cantaloupe melon, pineapple, citric tinged straw, grapefruit flicker. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying with a boosty rise and balanced hop bitterness. Decent enough on point DIPA.
