Description
Twisted Barrel Ale exploded onto the Coventry beer scene on 29th March 2014.

After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry's patrons thirsting for our unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods we launched our beers at Coventry's number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success. Originally brewing on a 60 litre kit, we described ourselves as 'the UK's first Pico-brewery'.

20th June 2015 and we held another launch. This time in our brand new Brewery and Tap House at FarGo Village. With a new 1000 litre brewing kit and an entirely new brand design from Stewart Easton, we've finally become the brewery we always set out to be. Almost 2 years later we transferred our bar and brewing kit into a space about 5 times larger than before, we're still serving the best beer at FarGo Village.

Bottle picked up from Beer Gonzo, Earlsdon, Coventry, Sunday 9th November 2014 Pours murky amber with a little white film atop. Buzzy citus in mouth, sweet but slightly underipe orangesleaving a fuzzy, furry, pithiness (but sweeter than pithy) across tongue and roof of mouth. I like this its got an ever so slightly rough around the edges quality but. Lovely bitterness, marvellous. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov17. 3.9

Bottle. Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Slow gusher, which wasn’t expected! Lear, dark red. Loads of lumps. Thin, bubbly, tan head. Mild malts. Cherry stone. Light roast. Taste is woody, and ashy dry. Thin palate. Too much fizz. Finishes fruity dry.

Persistent slow gusher. Hazy amber beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry, good fine carbonation. Light caramel malts, a little rye spice. Soap! Light marmalade and citrus on the back end as well some emerging malt cream sweetness. Finishes light. Would be good if not for the infected soapy note. Second infected bottle on the trot from this brewer. Not impressed.

Lightly hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, a bit over done on the carbonation. Soap on the nose and the flavour, some agitation removes the edge off it but it’s always there. Post agitation the subtle fruit flavours are revealed, including zingy peach. Light semi dry finish. I always like to try experimental hop beers but this one fails to name the hops and then masks the flavour with an infection! Sigh!

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. It pours hazy amber with a small off-white head. The nose is big earthy brett, farmyard, hibiscus, pepper, cherry, rose and candy floss. The bitter, earthy brett, orange peel, sherbet, stewed citrus, wood, barnyard, floral, peppery and some bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice depth and plenty of brett. I am a fan.
