0,5 flaske delt med BFF Stephen: klar rødlig mahogny med utmerket skumkrone som varer lenge nok. Tørkede frukter, årgangsmadeira, en toucha av armagnac, litt eik/vanilje, hint av nøtter og en silkemyk urtebitterhet. Forfinet og eksklusiv drikke. Grip karpen (carpe diem)!

Purchased from Fuller’s. Pours a deep mahogany colour with a frothy tan head. Rich aromas of prune, dried fruit and caramel. Taste is rich and complex. Slightly nutty with notes of caramel, fruit cake, ripe banana, toast and oak. Very satisfying taste with a long lasting aftertaste. A superb Vintage Ale.

Bottle at the Munich Brewver Christmas gathering at Jonas's in Garching Friday 28th November 2025, in the company of Jonas and Ursula, this bottle I picked up in the UK and brought with me when we moved here in 2019. Pours a murky mid brown with an off white fast disappearing head, there's a little bit of film on top now. A touch of marmalade, easy drinking for the abv, but warming. There's a little bit of a spicy edge, nice soft mouthfeel. Very good.

Pours a clear mahogany colour with a tan head. A rich and complex aroma and similar flavour. Similar to the 2020 (which I recently reviewed) but with more of a fiery alcohol edge, with hints of Armagnac. A beautifully aged bottle. Notes of caramel, dried fruit, prunes and leather. Very mouth-filling with a long, rich aftertaste. A great old ale.
