Draft pour at Ocelot. POured a dark, but still mostly clear brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was relatively subtle. Flavor was big and bold caramel toffee bourbon. The base characteristics are kind of muted a bit due to the barrel aging. There's more vanilla, and warming liquor. Toffee finish. Smooth going down, which was nice.

Tap at Ocelot Brewing, Virginia. Colour is deeple cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavous: Fruits, citrus, peach, some tartness and some sourness. Lactic sour.

$3.50 pint can, WW. Copper in color, light haze, off-white head. Brown grasses and leaves, light citrus, light bread in the nose. Flavors of brown and green leaf, toasted bread crust. Simple, but decent flavor.

Quite a nice IPA. Grapefruit, some orange peel. Lots of green onion. Pours hazy yellow with ok head. Light hop tang finish. Tap at Red Apron.

$4.30 pint can, WW. Hazy gold with a soft off-white head. Orange zest, fruit loops, pineapple nose. Bitter grapefruit peel, resin, bitter green grasses, bitter pineapple. All bitter, not juicy. Decent, but missing something.

Pours unclear, peachy blonde. Smell is sharp, tart, passion fruit like aroma. Taste is full, sharp, bit dry, lactic acid, mild fruit (not as specifically passion fruit though ) . OK .

Pours black, no real head. Smell is roasty. Sweet, aged. Dark fruits. Taste is full. I really get an aged factor here.. Did they bring an old beer to wakefest ??? ? medium boozy, not my thing, this one.

Slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice, relatively large, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of crisp citrus and a lot of floral and very grassy notes with a light alpha acid bitterness, but more on the dry and herbal side of things with a good malt backbone throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and very dry flavours up front nwith some hops noticeable, although only a little of the citrus and stone fruit flavours, more is definitely coming off of the piney and floral notes, all with a good malt backbone that shows perhaps a touch more mild than most in the style. Aftertaste shows the soft malts with a little sweetness from fruit, but really just a light balance of herbal, grassy, floral and slightly citrusey hops with a tiny bit of bittterness, but not much in terms of complexity. Overall, a relatively balanced, more herbal and grassy than citrusey IPA that doesn't really show New England components, but more of a traditional East Coast IPA that highlights the grassy and floral notes.
