On tap at Big Sky, pours a cloudy pinkish orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a big character of both strawberry and rhubarb upfront, with moderate lacto. Flavour is very juicy, with lots of bright rhubarb upfront, followed by strawberries and soft wheaty notes. Really like the fruit here. Very good.

On tap at Big Sky, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lacto upfront, with tart wheaty notes. Flavour is tart, with lots of lacto, a little citrus and soft wheaty notes. Very yogurty palate. It's alright.

Sancho's Broken Arrow, Denver tap: pours brown with off white head. Aroma is nutty and malty. Taste is slightly sweet, easy to drink. Solid. Old school.

12 oz can from a six pack. Aroma is grainy, cantaloupe, caramel, vague random fruitiness, wet dog. Pours clear deep golden with a two finger off-white head with great retention. Taste starts out with what seems like very little bitterness, but that bitterness builds with each succeeding sip, until it seems highly bitter after half a dozen drinks. It's backed by lots of caramel malt sweetness and seems a tad boozy. A really weird IPA. It doesn't smell very good, but it's pretty tasty. Has caramel malt levels one would expect from beers made 15-20 years ago, but it's actually a nice caramel flavor here, unlike those old school beers of the past. Perfect carbonation and mouthfeel. Not too bad overall.

Draught @ Aslan Depot. Golden-amber, thin head, light sweet vanillins, very sweet...barley wines-ish, soft body.

Draft. A- Pine, sweet malt, caramel, subtle bubblegum. A- Copper orange color, hazy liquid, off white head. T- Caramel, booze, gum. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- Boozy and a mix of sweet malt and bitter pine. Not bad but I wanted something more from it. Perhaps some age helps this.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of deep roasted malts, pitted fruit, raisins, nuts, vanilla and a healthy amount of chocolate - more from the milk side of things than any dark chocolate/full cacao notes. Medium-bodied; A touch thin from the age with a full roasty and vanilla flavour at first that shows the alcohol punch, a lot of nuts and pistachios with a good chocolate and sweet finish, mostly from the pitted fruits and raisins. Aftertaste shows mostly the roasted malt, alcohol and sweet notes, but some oak dryness and a bit of the pit fruit flavours come through that show some deeper cherries, plums and a touch of bourbon and alcohol. Overall, a nice enough Imperial Stout that has aged fairly well, but still shows a bit harsh and pungent through the flavours - but the body has lost some in age. Nice to sample, but there are better that have done better in the bottles. If you have a bottle, I'd say keep for half this time (perhaps two years) then drink, to conserve room in your cellar for other options. I Sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Steamworks Liqour Store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 08-June-2015 for CA$4,95 sampled at home back in the great country of America on 25-February-2019, about 3.5 years after purchase.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aromas of leather and toasted grain. Flavors are moderately bitter roast with some caramel malt sweetness.

12 oz can at Union Grill, pours reddish brown clear. Faint malt aroma, thinnish body. Bitter malt taste and finish. Not really in brown ale style.
