A hazy orange beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also light caramel notes. The flavor is sweet hoppy with a dry bitter end, that mixes in light hoppy notes.

Pour is a very pale brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma is malty and grain. Flavor is very nutty maybe some hazelnut and a bit of nutmug throw in there. Finish leaves something to be desired as it is very watery and reminds me of wet paper bag. Still worth a try.

[Draft at GBBF 2005] An unclear dark orange beer with a small orange head. The aroma is sweet wheaty, while the flavor is a mixture of sweet and sour with strong notes of malted wheat and citrus, as well as lesser notes of bananas.

On tap (@ Mahrs Bräu Bamberg): Deep golden coloured, stable fluffy white head; sweet malty and a bit yeasty nose, some traces of alcohol; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, quite full bodied; slightly alcoholic finish with some distinctive bitterness. A decent, tasty Bock !

Bottle (best before 28/11/06): Hazy, thin foamy head, yellow orangey coloured; sourish, bready, buttery (diacetyl ?) nose; sourish-bitter flavour; sourish-buttery finish with some bitter notes. ODD STUFF- this can’t be a regular Mahr’s Bräu ?! Needs a re-rating.......................!

(On tap @ Restaurant Alt-Ringlein, Bamberg) It was served in a stein so I can’t say anything about the colour. The head disapeared pretty fast. Buttery, fruity aroma. Somewhat fruity flavour, ok bitterness.

This has a classic Hefeweizen appearance, tall white creamy head over a dark yellow hazy body. Light malt aroma bread dough and banana. Good light sweet malt flavor with lots of fruityness. I think this suffers from lack of freshness as do most of the Hefeweizens from Germany, and not from a lack of quality.

A light yellow body under a large white head gives this a classic Pilsener look. Lightly flowery hop aroma with a sweet malt background. Nicely hopped with sweet malt in the flavor. Not bad.
