Description
André Paeleman, a male nurse living in Wetteren (Belgium) started a long time ago with his plans to produce his own beer. To accomplish that goal, he followed 3 years of brewery classes in Ghent.
Later, in 1996, he officially started his own Microbrewery in his home city Wetteren. He didn't have a lot of resources to start with so he had to turn an old industrial bakery into a brewery to get started.
In the beginning, he even used milk tanks made out of stainless steel along with materials he got from 2 other breweries in the neighbourhood.
Once a week, he brewed 750 liters of his first beer he called Uitzet 1730.
The brewery was growing and André was producing more and more Uitzet 1730. Things were looking good and he decided to produce a second beer called Lam Gods.
Later on, he expended his range of beers to seasonal beers and he even produced a cherry beer.
André drealised that he couldn't take care of all those different beers by himself. He decided to let Brewery Van Steenberge brew Uitzet 1730 and Lam Gods while he would be focussing on the seasonal and cherry beers.

Dark amber colour, white foam. Disappears quickly. Nose of stone fruit, oxidized hops, some honey and exotic fruits. Best before 2022 but it's full of old hops, nothing refreshing, more towards a barley wine.

22/X/19 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: II/2022 - (2019-1774)
Clear deep amber to rusty red brown beer, big fluffy aery yellow to almost beige head, irregular, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: quite some chocolate, oxidized, dried fruits, bit malty, earthy notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty oxidized, malty, nice bitterness, bit hoppy, some dried fruits, sweet, some barley wine impression, definitely not an IPA, but it could pass for a hoppy American Barley Wine in a blind tasting, I guess... Aftertaste: sweet touch, caramel notes, dried fruits, very bitter, hoppy, bit resinous, medicinal in the finish, a little too bitter.

6,2% on the label. Off white frothy head. Plumaroma. Sweet and a bit sour flavor. Fruity (peach and orange). Just a bit of yoghurt. Nice fruity beer, but lacks complexity. Re-rate: caramel, pear and Traubenzucker in the aroma and flavor. Sharpish mouthfeel. Citrus. There is a souring effect in this beer, like an old fashioned Flemish sour. The slightest hint of iron in the aftertaste. Off the beaten track but interesting enough.

Starke Karbonisierung. Kirschiger, rund fruchtiger Beginn. Feine Noten von Mandeln, etwas Alkohol, sehr trocken. Vollmundig, viel Kirschen, natürlich. Intensiv, langer Abgang. Gut. 10/11/12/12/8/12

Accidental rerate, bottle from Geers. Impressions of toast, toffee, Coca-Cola, raisin. Taste of sweet dried fruits, raisin, toffee & cake, herbal & spicy with a vague iron note. Herbal hoppy finish, toasty, jam-like, touch of nutmeg. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Tastes way better now, so I'll edit the score.
Original rating: 24 February 2019. 6/6/5/6/5.5=5.6.
At Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! Clear amber with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head; some lacing. Aroma of toast, cinnamon, cookie dough, peanuts, toffee, raisin, Coca-Cola. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite nutty, peanut & almond next to toffee & caramel with vague dark fruits in the back; light herbal bitter middle brings mocha, tea leaves, some spices, yet a weird note of plastic & fish guts too. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, caramel & toffee. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Something's off here so I'll pass.

24 February 2019. Wieze Bierfestival - cheers to Meeki, Ama Deke & the lovely Anke! New Uitzet intended as a Tripel, but because it's dry-hopped they felt they had to put the label 'IPA' behind it. I don't think you can have both, though... Pours clear dark golden with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head; some lacing. Aroma of lemon peel, ripe mandarin, yellow grapefruit, apple & pear, pine, cheese, sweaty onion. Taste is medium hoppy bitter, notes of mandarin peel, yellow grapefruit & mango, sweetish notes of apple & pear, some sourish lime; more Tripel-like accents coming through in the form of estery banana, honey & white bread. Both aspects come together in the dryish, piney & grassy hoppy finish, subtle grapefruit peel, more bread, honey & grain and a dash of warming gin-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Somewhat a good blend between two genres, if ever that's possible, but why not do away with the Tripel bit and just make a Double IPA?
