Description
André Paeleman, a male nurse living in Wetteren (Belgium) started a long time ago with his plans to produce his own beer. To accomplish that goal, he followed 3 years of brewery classes in Ghent.
Later, in 1996, he officially started his own Microbrewery in his home city Wetteren. He didn't have a lot of resources to start with so he had to turn an old industrial bakery into a brewery to get started.
In the beginning, he even used milk tanks made out of stainless steel along with materials he got from 2 other breweries in the neighbourhood.
Once a week, he brewed 750 liters of his first beer he called Uitzet 1730.
The brewery was growing and André was producing more and more Uitzet 1730. Things were looking good and he decided to produce a second beer called Lam Gods.
Later on, he expended his range of beers to seasonal beers and he even produced a cherry beer.
André drealised that he couldn't take care of all those different beers by himself. He decided to let Brewery Van Steenberge brew Uitzet 1730 and Lam Gods while he would be focussing on the seasonal and cherry beers.

Cloudy gold beer, huge frothy white head. Fruit sherbet nose. Dry crisp palate. Sherbetty head. Dry malt, fruits, touch of barnyard. A bit weird and way too dry!

July 2008: Found on the huge beer list (under Winter brews) at Cafe Botteltje, Ostend. Well out of date (the label went up to 2005, but wasn’t marked). This obviously doesn’t age well, read on. A murky sludge slurped out the bottle, with an off white, scummy looking small head. An incredible aroma of farmyard manure came with the beer. This was one bad, old, nasty brew. A lesser man would have given up, but I soldiered on and drank the lumpy mix, just to annoy my wife. The sediment stuck to my teeth and I had to ask for a ’tandenstoker’ (toothpick) from the staff. I should have asked for a sweaty sock to drink it through I suppose, that way the bits wouldn’t have gotten into my mouth! Needless to say, I didn’t have two and unless I see someone else pour a fresh one, I never will.

33cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Big white to off-white head that lasts for quite a while, amber-brown color. Smell malts, yeast, lightly grapes. Taste malts, some fruits, some herbs or spices which irritate me, some sharpness. Low to medium carbonation, low body.
