Description
Welcome to the page of Brouwerij-Stokerij Pirlot. actively brewing and distilling quality beverages since 1998.

Dark counterpart of Kempisch Vuur Tripel, with a deep bronze colour and thick beige head. Aroma malty, coriander, chocolate, ginger, cinnamon; full malty taste, dried fruits, spicy like most of this range (ginger, cinnamon), Tomahawk hop bitterness in the finish along with roasted bitterness - which I have nothing against, it’s just that they are used too commonly in dark Belgians nowadays, especially by the small brewers.

Spiced tripel with wheat; snow white head on a hazy orangey blonde beer. Sweet aroma, clear presence of spices, more so in the current version than originally, orange, white candi sugar, peach; soft and velvety mouthfeel, spices, sourish hint, fruits, citrus accent, medium hop bitterness. Ordinary but not bad.

Imperial stout with light beige, thin but stable head and near to black colour. Aroma of coffee, wood, chocolate, peanuts, candi syrup, toasted bread. Rich and complex taste, caramelly and nutty malts further supported by a deep chocolatey maltiness, spicy yeasty tones, candied fruits, coffee-like roasted bitterness in the finish. I was surprised this brewery of relatively low profile is capable of making a more than decent imperial.

29/VII/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ the seaside - BB: 12/XII/16 (2014-852)

Little cloudy orange beer, lots of small chunks floating under a creamy white irregular head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: citrus, ripe summer fruits, some peaches, bit of banana, yeasty touch, somewhat off. MF: ok carbon, medium body. taste: very spicy, bit sweet, banana peel, malty, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: hoppy, spices, bit yeasty, sweet, something weird, some overripe banana.

And oh yeah: Worst. Label. Ever.

Draft at the brewery . Pours clear , darker blonde . Not much head . Unintense scent . Taste is weird ! Really herbal ( the jenever ! ) which is not my thing and rather new to me . Dusty metallic is what i would describe it .., One of my least favourites ,..

Tap at the brewery . I wonder why this is retired , while they clearly still brew it ... Pours fuzzy blonde . Smell is grainy . Sweet , yeast and def some hops . Taste is sweet . Honey comes to mind , in a gentle , subtile way . Pretty good . Some bitterness , but not much . Nice and certainly one of their better .

Draft @ the brewery . Pours clear , bordeaux red . Good white head . Smell is funky cherrie , swiming pool aspects . Taste is intense cherries , dry , bit of a sour touch . Very fleshy cherries . Taste way more naturall than expected . Think of an oude kriek , without the lambic . Feels a nit unnatural though , because of the absence of lambic . Ok .
