My beer day ends with this little puppy. As I am writing my recent reviews I am still finishing off the remnants of this brew. I do not know whats going on with this beer but I too have a different label and it says 9% plus it has a pic of Botticelli’s Venus on a half shell. Hey I love art and beer but in this case I may need to be cautious. First of all, this was just a single bottle at the counter of American, which I bought yesterday and fridged for about 12 hours. Also on the label they make an effort to call it an "amber" belgian ale. Well, "amber" is usually not a good thing in my book. So here we go. Poured amber of course. Can see through the beer however. Nice medium foam but it faded into a lacing around the glass. Aroma is belgiany sweet but overtaken by a fishy/alcohol smell. Taste is belgiany sweet but light, watery and thin. Stings the throat a bit as well. I expect more from you Belgium and more from you Botticelli. And to think I paid 4 bucks for this bottle plus it was 11.2 oz (i hate that number).

This is the sweetest Scotch ale I have encountered, bar none. The clear copper pour yielded a thick tan, tight-bubbled head. The nose was full of sweet malts β€” caramel and sugar. But also a hint of rubber. The flavor was like liquid cotton candy β€” brown sugar, caramel. Hops showed up in the finish presenting a slightly bitter aftertaste. The palate was fizzy and slightly sticky. A moderately long finish.
