About Mjøderiet:
Behind Mjøderiet stands five firefighters from Bergen with a passion for mead - an ancient cultural drink that has only in the last few years begun to return to Nordic palates.
With backgrounds as home brewers and beer enthusiasts at various levels, we at Mjøderiet have ambitions to revitalize mead in Norway. We believe Norwegians are ready to take part in the international development where mead has made a comeback in several countries. We think mead is insanely exciting and is a drink with great potential.
Mjøderiet wants to spread knowledge about mead, revive the classic styles and experiment with new and exciting flavors. We want to have a foot in the old mead tradition and one in the new craft brewery culture, where we experiment with fruits and spices, different alcoholic strengths and different levels of carbonic acid.
The meeting room will have diversity.
We want quality, and genuine passion for precious drops.
For painstakingly collected honey from diligent bees. For real fruits and berries, for flavorful herbs and spices. And of course for exciting and unique flavor combinations.
We want to meet the people.

Draught at Bryggerifestivalen, second day, many thanks to Stian. Missing head and lacing, clear reddish body. Berry skins with a fruity scent on the nose. Fruit-berry mix to the taste buds, backbone of honey. Long-lived honeyed berry-fruity finish, not overly sweet. Like it. (Trondheim 29.07.2022).

Draught at Bryggerifestivalen, second day. Many thanks to Stian. Clear golden body, missing head, no lacing. Inviting aromas of pineapple and apple skins, mid-sweet. Prominent honeyed fruity flavours, hints of berries as well. Prolonged ending of honeyed sweet berry-fruits. Pretty good. (Trondheim 29.07.2022).

Bottle. A lightly oily pour reveals a few bubbles around the rim above a deep red mostly clear body. The aroma has lots of honey, with herbal flowery hints, blackcurrant and blackberries. Some generic berry scents too. It's lightly warming on the palate, sweet and full-bodied, with a very light carbonation. A bit honey-sweetish flavor, with some herbal and flowery notes, but mostly berries. Rather short finish I think, although the honey and a lemony sourness lingers. Nice anyway. 220706

Bottle. It's crystal clear in the glass, deep yellow in a way that still looks quite pale, with no carbonation or head. Lightly oily. The aroma has a subtle orange touch, some alcohol and a quite gentle honey and flower hint. Faintly herbal. It's smooth and full-bodied on the palate, not too sweet and sticky, with very little alcohol warmth. The orange is more pronounced than in the aroma, the honey feels more flowery and less herbal, and the alcohol is still quite subdued. Even more orangey in the finish. A very gentle one, and a bit too straightforward. Dangerously easy drinkable though. 220601
