Cask at Great Expectations, Reading. A curious brew. Amber with a loose cream head, sour aroma with some orchard fruit; unpleasant medicinal herbal taste; then a dry grassy finish with some biscuity malts. Challenging to start, but improving slightly towards the finish.

Cask at Great Expectations, Reading. Hazy amber with a thin white head. Sharp leafy aroma and taste against a very light malt. For possibly the first time in a beer at this Brewpub hops have been used in detectable quantities- so itโs a bit of a shame that Iโm not much liking the specific hops used. Oh well, maybe next time. Did grow on me a bit by the end, but not by enough.

Cask at Great Expectations, Reading. Murky light amber with a thin white head. Fruity and bready with a touch of butter. Kind of a sweet apple and blackberry pie thing going on. Itโs ok to drink but itโs rather muddled and let down by a lack of condition - so pretty much like all the beers Iโve had from this brewpub then.

Cask at Great Expectations, Reading. A hazy golden amber pour with a tight cream head; slight apple aroma; smooth grainy body with some orchard fruit; then a crispy apple finish, but with some claggy cookie dough in the backgound. Rather strange.

Cask at Great Expectations, Reading. Bright amber with a loose white head; malty aroma; biscuity malt taste with a light citrus bitterness. A simple and straightforward Ordinary Bitter, with no sign of the disinfectant smell that affected recent ratings.
