473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of roasted barley, a bit of lactose, and creamy chocolate. Light flavors of chocolate, possibly some oak and more roasted barley. Clean but light for an Impy.

5oz pour at Steamworks Mt Pleasant. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma has some eggs malts, some nutmeg. Flavour has sweet caramel malts, lactose, nutmeg. Tastes like an eggnog + hops. Works fine, wouldn't necessarily drink it again.

S: tart - lemon verbena - light flowers A: hazy light golden body - thin head (somehow - even with an exploded can, this is very 'still') T: soured - lemon zest - lavendar flowers (duh!) P: perfumey (of course) - funky - super-light malts O: interesting - very subdued - soured but balanced nicely (good to sample before heading back to Vancouver, BC) 16 ounce can - Broadway Liqour Store: South Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - purchased: 01-July-2022 - canned: 19-May-2022 - CA$4,10 - sampled: 26-July-2024

473ml can. Pours a clear dark brown with red hue and a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth and light vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, vanilla, dark chocolate and day-old coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Tasty, but a little thin for the style.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose brings out toasted malt, very subtle oak, and a touch of oak. Flavour is smooth, bringing notes of wood, toasted malt, and yes, a hint of cognac. Light-bodied for an 8% stout, but has some nice delicate flavours that work together subtly and open up with more time and as it warms. This one exceeded my expectations.
