On tap at the Boise BrewPub black with a lasting dark tan head. Lots of dark roast and floral hops. Very roasty, with plenty of hop flavor and a moderate bitterness. Very flavorful. The roast notes are mild and chocolatey. A hoppy porter.

Sampler at Schaumburg. Far and away the best beer I had at Ram. Big grapefruit rind hop tones. Easy drinking, with a steady classic NW hop bill. Nice to end the otherwise lackluster sampler with. Right on.

Sampler at Schaumburg. The most interesting Ram beer I’ve had so far, which isn’t saying much. Oliy hemp seed burnt tones. I pretty much get toasted oily hemp all the way. An oddity. Somewhere between an India Brown Ale and an APA. Another loser.

Sampler at Schaumburg. Hazy yellow tan. Decent banana clove tones. A pretty acceptable offering. Easy drinking, but there is an odd underlying taste. Did not grow on me.

A pretty clean house light beer. Some dry, earthy clusterish hop tones. A touch too sweet, sugary for the style. Not the kind of beer I’d ever revisit, very macro-straightforward.

Sampler at Schaumburg. Brown-black body. Caramel toffee, sugar plum, raisin. Not really that enjoyable, sticky cloying specialty malt, not much going on. Not undrinkable, but sub-par. Dunkel-Schwarz characteristics.

Sampler at Schaumburg. Hazy yellow-white. A pretty decent Wit. Leaning into the coriander and orange peel a little, but still a true example. Easy drinking, maybe a touch of oats. OK, could go lighter with the spices.

Sampler at Schaumburg. Filtered pale tan. Light, easy lager. Cleaner and fresher than macro swill, but still in that realm. A decent enough lager, delicate. Thirst quenching, neutral.

All of the right weizen notes, with a hint of smoke. Nice job on this, as the Americans can’t seem to make a decent weizen. Heavier, chewy mouthfeel, creamy head, and sweet wheat and malt notes. It’s the smokiness that adds a new dmenssion, and makes it interesting. Nice job!
