Description

Bottle at the RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is crisp fresh yeast. The flavour is medium to weak bitter, grassy with some dry pepper spice on the palate.

Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Boring, metallic, bit caramel. Spicy belgian yeast. I cant imagine this is truly a golden ale/blond ale. Should be belgian ale, as it is nowhere near a typical english ale. Whatever style, it’s not good.

Huge, very fine & dense, just yellowish head, irregular, kept persistent by lively carbonation in orangeish golden beer. Slightly caustic nose, diary, wey, green leaves, white candi sugar and faintly spicy. Quite spicy taste, however; cardboard; citruspeel without its oily bitterness; candi sugar. All in all, quite sweet, too sweet for a tripel, even if the finish works drier. Bit peppery, but every sip brings up the (wet) cardboard again. Very spritzy indeed, gassy feel. Medium bodied, bit of alcoholwarming backthroat. Oh well, I’m sure it will find its fans.

Very good; just yellowish tinted head, bit fluffy over fully hazy, fully carboanted, orangeish yellow beer. End of bottle utter yeast, head all gone. White candi sugar, pale malts, faintly scorched and spicy-citrussy. Sweetish, malty and again spicy-citrussy. Wheat too. Gets rather sweet warming up. Spritzy, medium bodied, alcoholimpression without becoming really warming. A certain dictum comes to mind. Something about 13 and a dozen....

Bottle, from DHVL - cheers to them for this one, at the 500 miles tasting in the Sham, 23/03/13. Hazed dark amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is sugar, Belgian yeast strains, toffee, light fruit. Taste comprises caramel, smokey/acrid tones, ash, dark fruits touch of hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, dry and crisp in the finish. Ok stuff - nothing I’d return too though!
