A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet creamy coriander, light oxidation notes. In mouth, a smooth candy sugar with light notes of belgian hops, light maderization, medium bodied. 750 ml bottle at l’Autre Oeil shared with Sammy, Radek and Probstk, Nov. 11 2010.

Good, fluffy, somewhat yellow-tinted head over copper-golden beer. Pale malts, garden herbs, bit oppressive, diet cookies, citrus, white candi sugar. Toasted malts, faint caramel, cookies, restsugar, finish has some herbal notes. Spritzy, light to medium bodied, bit slick; alcohol remaining absolutely under the radar. Nice, and dangerously drinkable at its strength!

Bottle; Poured a lightly hazy clear light yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of lightly overcooked vegetable with grass and hay is not as awesome as I was expecting. Taste is a nice enough mix between some hay and grass with a solid malt backbone. I was expecting more hops based on the name and less overcooked vegetable. A bit of of a disappointment.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 30 July 2010) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, spicy nose with citrus, apricots and hints of coriander. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of lemon, apricots, grass and coriander. Dry finish with a generous spicy bitterness. More than medium body. Very nice and tasty.

Lots of hops on the nose, an okay foggy white-yellow colour. Flavour is all hops and coriander, no complexity. But okay drinking. A decent wheat-style beer, just okay.

Draught @ Kafe Belgie. Unclear golden colour, white head. Aroma is yeasty, metallic, sour fruits. Flavour is yeasty, light fruity and metallic. Not good.

75cl Bottle from Bert’s Bierhuis, to cleanse our palate after the Nectar of the Gods tasting. Bottle says Lupulus Ardens Tripel Bier, 8.5% ABV. Hazy pale yellow colour, dense white head. Aroma of bready malts, hops, very flowery, a bit dusty, not unlike XX Bitter. Flavour is malty, hoppy, perfume and flowers, malty and hoppy bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied. Nice beer.
