Sample at the Tehachapi Beer & Wine Festival on 07/18/2015: Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, rye malt and citrus. The finish is moderately bitter with a rye and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

16oz. can from Total Wine, Tampa.

In a Shaker showing a finger of clean white foam and moderately filtered dark orange. The nose shows a mix of moderately intense mango and guava. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Fresh flavors of light guava and a little mango. The finish shows little to no bitterness. Light and refreshing.

On draught. Full malt and a little cardboard on the nose. Clear amber with ivory/khaki head. Flavor is uninteresting malt and one dimensional. I did not get any hop action here.

Can. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy, dark gold. Film of off white head. Spicy, juicy, fusty, mandarin hop. Soft caramel. Taste is lightly spicy bitter. Nice balance by way of a toffee sweetness. Smooth palate, with a rich chew. Finishes long, fruity, zesty bitter, with that spice lingering all the way.

Bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours hazy reddish hazel, small creamy beige head that dissipates leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is malty, dark sugars, a bit of cherry, vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet, out comes the bourbon with lots of dried fruits and dark sugars, date, prune, cherry, some oak, vanilla. Light bitterness and some ABV burn, but actually not bad. Full body, creamy, perhaps a bit chalky mouthfeel. Really solid effort. Kudos guys.

Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Light malts bring mild sweetness. Tangy orange hops, some marmalade. Touch of lemon peel. Light finish with mild peel bitter linger. It’s fine but lacks vibrancy for a West Coast IPA, possibly not that fresh.
