Description
Since 1201, hospitality has made the La Cambre abbey famous. Its founder Dame Gisèle offered a beer brewed with the pure water from the Maelbeek spring to the travelers and the pilgrims that were stopping by. Today, sitting in the heart of Brussels, this traditional abbey shines again. With her exceptional beers, she once again promotes hospitality, much to the delight of all Brussels and today’s travelers.
As from 2021, Het Anker (Mechelen) became owner of the brand La Cambre - essentially leaving this entry as 'retired' and with a line of new 'La Cambre' beers brewed by Het Anker.

pours unclear blonde. good white head. Smell is malty, rather aromatic. even some remote hops. Taste is full, rather sharp, mild bitterness. Surprisingly aromaticly hopped. Still very gentle, but the taste is really good - very balanced between the hops and the malts. Not really yeasty or sweet, which is Always a good thing in these kind of beers. Fresh as well ! tad to high carbo, but still agreeable, and especialy in this style.

75 cl bottle. Gusher allert ! ( slow gushing, but still, it’ll fuck up your laptop if you’re not fast enough ) Pours rather clear light amber. Good to big white head. Smell is very weak. Taste is very bitter up front. Yogurthy, very dusty hoppyness. This bottle is ultra-fresh, and it tastes like its about 2 y old... What the hell ? of course - what did you expect - it is overcarbonated. Rather low body, yeasty taste. It’s bitter, that’s clear, but the aromatic features of the hops here are ****ed up. Nothing like what it should be. perhaps to old hops ?

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold, large white head. Aroma of creamy vanilla yeast. Taste is smooth, distinctly sweet vanilla icing, staightforward Belgian yeast, lacking the body of a stronger tripel. Ok, but no classic.
