Golden amber color with white head batch #19. Aroma was a grassy/fruit malt. Taste was a sour fruit with a malt finish of alcohol tingle.

Orange/gold in color - sweet, white dessert wine kind of aroma, with hints of saffron and wheat - quite sweet, but somehow tannic at the same time - the chardonnay grapes are the star of the show; one almost forgets he’s drinking a beer - not as complex a beer as I’ve come to expect from Allagash, but still quite good.

I brought this bottle to Dickinsonbeer’s Pre-TAP gathering. Murky orange translucent color, cant see through the beer. The aroma - SOUR. I mean thats what it is. The flavor a lot more subdued. Effervescent. Good aftertaste, no bitterness. Smooth, medium body.
On tap at Blind Tiger, I think this batch was a bit too young. It had a young sourness that was still too wrapped up in a kind of biscuit herbalness. It comes of as half-sour kind of thing. But with time I think this will turn into a better sour brew, seems bottle may be a better medium for this beer.

Pours deep orange into a trappist glass. Microbubble head quickly recedes to leave a scant head around the edge. Fruity aromas -- cherry, pear. Creamy, syrupy and sweet dough with a lasting fermented caramel fruit finish. Dates and pears.

Red-foxy, hazy beer; fast gone off-white head. Wine-y, vinous, sweet&sour fruit aromas. Phenolic taste but with very restrained sourness. Some rosewater flavour trait gives sweetness. Fruity flavours, but with a "bathroom soap" streak. Burning MF, slight oiliness, good body. First impression is always aggressive at Allagash brews. This is no exception. It mellows down eventually, but I have a slight problem with this.

Very carbonated beer, accajou colour; head gone. Dark malts, bit yeasty, wood with no tannins, and dark fruit (plums, even nuts). Initial woody bitterness, point of CO² acidity, in the middle sweeter/dark malts, and ends more bitter. Medium to well bodied, little alcohol burn. Better than remembered from a first try. Well-made dubbel.

Pale Yellow-orange; some transparant head. Beautiful Bourbon nose, but restrainded to a very good balance with subtle spicyness and chalk. Sweet, vinous & alcoholic, malty despite the lagering, serious punch. ROB, thís is what you should’ve brought to Belgium. This is something to challenge the best of Belgium with. Powerful, burning, punch and yet not agressive MF. I’m impressed. WOW. This is by far the best I’ve had from Allagash. Despite the Bourbon influence, it is definitely complex in a layered way.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow-golden color with an enormous foamy white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sweet table sugar, pear and a touch of apricot. The flavor was dry and herbal with notes of table sugar, passionfruit and noticeable alcohol. The finish was long and dry with faint sugar lingering. Fairly full bodied. Ok.
