Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours brown with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma holds butterscotch, light cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with notes of chocolate, light earthy bitterness, toffee. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, some well toasted malts. Decent.

Can, 6.5%. Distinctly caramelly aroma. Clear chestnut colour. Small frothy off-white head. The flavour is caramelly, nicely spicy from a flowery hop, and quite fruity. Hint of dust and paper and a fairly sweet finish.

Can. Pours clear copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with mild touches of hops and yeast. Bitter, roasty and hoppy flavour with bready and malty notes and touches of caramel, yeast and nuts. Bitter, hoppy and nutty aftertaste with estery notes. Well, not bad for the style but not may favourite as such.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a rich and frothy, light brown head - lovely pour. Vanilla, coffee and roast in the nose. Rich and malty body, lowish carbonation, heavy roastiness and coffee delivering quite a bitter punch with the soothing vanilla not really coming through. The promised intense aroma of citrus fruits is completely lost. Quite rough, but not bad. 181220
