Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks zvikar. Black with a big tan head. Sourish aroma with bourbon, vanilla, roast, wine, cookies, cherries, oak, vinegar. Sweet-sourish flavor with bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, oak, wine, dark fruits (some cherries), a vinegar note, roast, a bit of alcohol, and a dry finish. Full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Really good and complex.

Bottle - Citrus and some wet grass. Clear gold with a rich white head. Sweet, very perfumy and tons of grass with a bitter finish. Not bad.

Black with a beige head. Powdered cocoa, burnt malt, roasted coffee. A bit brown sugar sweetness. Finish has a hefty booze note. Pretty good but a bit too burnt malt for my liking.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with copper glints and a tan head. Aroma suggests cinnamon. Med body at least. Flavor is a bit hot - like chilies, and very suggestive of pumpkin pie spice. Easy to guess where some of this years blend came from. :) Chilies save the day.

Bottle poured and split. Have had a lot of fun being slowly introduced to these guys. Dark ruby pour with a big foaming head. Slightly metallic aroma with mixed berry. A little grape up front, floral, with mixed berry, and some red wine hints. Minimal tartness. Hmm. Pretty good.

50cl bottle pours with a copper to amber colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up soft modest smooth smoke, sweet malts, dates and molasses. The taste delivers sweet malts; a mild molasses nuanced roasted maltiness and then a blend of mild smoke and sweet dark fruity esters. This is pretty nice where the thin body and growing smoke head into the finish.

Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a near clear bright deep ruby red with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy red fruits with earthy grains and a bit of bread. Flavor has red fruits that are slightly tart with a slight vegetal note and earthy grains backing.

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Vinous, slightly alcoholic aroma, notes of blue grapes and dark berries, slightly chocolately basis, oaky overtones. Taste is vinous, minimally alcoholic, notes of red wine, blue grapes, dark berries, a tannic touch, hint of oak, a bitter-spicy touch of fruit parings; the moderately sweet chocolately basis gains more ground in the last third, supplanting the tart partitions of the red wine flavours. Warming alcoholic finish expands into deeper gullet regions.

Bottle from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head. Aroma of zest, pale malt, and maybe cardamom. Near medium body. Flavor is zest, light peppery something, light malt. It has more body than most wits, and more of a "beer" flavor as well. The spicy part works very nicely. Seem to be getting a little honey on my lips! Works. Refreshing. Fairly tasty in a mild way. Recommended.
