An orange-amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and lesser notes of alcohol. The flavor is also malty with strong caramel notes - and lots of sweetness - almost like caramel ice cream topping, but it also has faint notes of hops and flowers.

Bottle. Decent, but frankly didn’t think it was that spectacular. Very grainy, with some banana and lemon.

Been waiten for this one. Mine didn’t say ’holiday’ on it. Is this similar to La Rossa without the bitter malt finish? I guess honey is a spice and I can’t taste the cherries. Some lingering bitter. Not too sure why this beer commands a higher price. Will not buy again.

No prevailing aroma. A drinkable stout that lacks the total bitterness of the regular, foreign and imperial stouts. I was hoping for something a little sweeter, for a sweet stout. Very dark with little carbonation. Finish is slightly bitter & lasting. Hides it’s alky content well.

Did anyone say pale yellow american beers? Not quite. Seems a little more clear and less cloudy than other whites, no fog, without little things swirling around in there. without the yeast.Slight yeast aroma. Initial bite was slightly bitter as mild hops but the bitterness faded within minutes after the first taste. A little less than average carbonation. And yes, I did imagine banana....! Specifically, not real bananas but the taste of a good quality banana popsicle on a warm sunny day. How interesting. No lasting bitterness on the finish.

I’ve been waitin a while to taste something from Troegs. Actually I’ve been patiently anticipating the dream wheat or the mad elf ale. I saw this for $2 a bottle so I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve been avoiding this one because I thought it had a personna of the horned devil on the front. However, upon closer inspection, it is some kind of cross between an old bearded muscleman and one of those rams that smash heads up on a mountain. Initial flavor is good but the finish has a slight amount of bitter hops that lasts for a while after swallowing. Pretty good stuff. Not yer typical pale yellow american beer and extremely better than an IPA or dry stout. It hides the alchohol content rather well.

Bottle thanks to xproudfoot. Essentially clear orange-brown body, thin/medium cream head. Aroma of heavy toasts, brown sugar, and burnt notes; sweet. Interesting medicinal quality to the flavor, too light and sweet, also characterized by candy corn and toast, finishing with warming alcohol. I found the body too thin to carry the alcohol. However, this wasn’t half bad.

Dark copper pour with impressive white lace - rather light, bready aroma, with some caramel and fruity esters, mostly of cherry - a bit thin-bodied and lacking the malt complexity one would expect from this style - a little honey sweetness and a light spicy quality - decent, but not something I’d seek out again.
