VERY cloudy burnt orange almost oaky appearance. 3 finger white pillow head. Nose is citrus (lemon, tangerine) and candied sugar. Taste is Interesting beer. the ABV is totally hidden! sweet finish and not very hoppy. More of a belgian strong ale sweetness. Interesting for sure.

Bottle. Hazy deep amber beer, little pale tan head. Crisp palate, semi dry. Minerally fine carbonation. Interesting beer! There is sour Flemish red type thing going on at the same time as sweet vanilla wood and whisky! The Flemish character is lightly dominant but the two sides are well integrated. Semi dry finish with tangy plummy fruits. Hides the abv well.

’t Graverhopke is slowly coming to grips that all of their beers are infected by putting a picture of a lemon on their new beer – at least they have a sense of humor and they have ceased trying to play them of as a) non-infected & b) intentionally sour. Bright golden with quickly gone white head. Lactic sour nose, spoiled yoghurt, strongly zesty, chemical citrus additives,… Sour lemon children vitamins, cheap lemon lemonade, zesty sourness, lactic, spoiled children medicine, lots of food lemon additives, clearly chemical,… Fading carb. The bottle doesn’t even list lemon as an ingredient nor chemicals, genius brewing…

+/- 10 yr. old 33 cl. Bottle with no lable and covered in dust @ Kulminator. This was still brewed by the former brewer and not the new one. Reddish, Bordeaux, cranberry, light purple, some difficulties nailing the colour of this one, head disappears faster than I have ever seen, like the head on coca-cola or something. Smell is agreeable, smells a bit like a sweetened kriek, some dust, light sweet syrup and touch mustiness, ok so far. Taste on the other hand is hard to call enjoyable, rotting cellar, filth, dust, musty, rotting, highly fermenting kriek, rotting cherry pits, garbagejuice, rotting leaves,… Flat or close to. I have previously called Gaverhopke the worst brewery in Belgium, this does little to change my opinion of them. This may be the age or a potential sign that even under the previous brewer they used to be not too good. It can be said that this was probably not meant to be aged.

Bottle, 75cl. An amber beer, topped by a dense, off-white head of moderate size. Clear. The aroma has some solvent, as well as prunes and raisins. Slightly unpleasant. The flavor is alcoholic and sourish, with dried fruits dominating. Rather dry, wonder if that’s intended. Medium to thin, with pleasant carbonation. Sourish finish with dried fruits. Not very good. 130215
