12oz bottle. Slightly hazy orange-tan body with a frothy, steady white head. Lemony sweet alcohol tinged aroma. A pretty big, well hopped IPA, certainly above par in the brewpub landscape. Some island fruits lost among the piny action. Caramel, toffee, golden malt. Pretty respectable stuff.

12oz bottle. FIltered glowing ruby burgundy red orange. Foamy, steady off-white to beige head. Kind of too lame to call an ESB, let’s just call this an Amber. Big malt center, mild indistinguishable hop character. Some richness to it, touches of vanilla and cherry, ie amber malt. Decent enough, malt centered Red.

I had no idea there was a style here called American Dark Lager. 12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Cherry brown body, thin oily beige head. Sweet caramel chocolate aroma. This is a Dunkel all the way, or at least a Schwarzbier. Pretty decent, not mindblowing, sort of has a soapy bite to it for a lager. Overall pretty enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Murky orange-brown with a big, steady off-white head. Very unique, the whiskey actually complements the hops quite well, imparting more of a woody flavor than an outright booziness. A real quality offering, with a sweet, bourbon candy aftertaste. Really impressive balance. Delicious.

On draught at World Of Beer. The beer pours an opaque dark brown color with a minimal tan head and spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of black coffee, toasted malt and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Brown sugar, caramel, oak aroma - all very faint. Hazy amber brown with a large beige head, good retention. Sour malt, nuts, whiskey/oak flavor. A little spice and roast in the finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Sample at the Columbus Microbrew Festival on 09/16/2012: This beer is a slightly hazy orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, oak and citrus. Medium body with a subtle oaky character and notes of floral hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with an oaky, fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz bottle purchased at Bella Vino in Athens, Ohio. The pour is hazed yellow golden with a 1/2 inch white head that falls quick. The aroma is wheat grain, lighter citrus banana, and a touch of sweet clove. Soft nose, though quite natural. The taste is wheat grain, banana and light clove esters. There is also a touch of earthiness present. As the beer warms this earthiness gets a touch dirty. The palate is light bodied, tad watery in the finish, lower carbonation. Easy to drink. Seemed much more a American Wheat Ale than a Hefe, but nice regardless.

Sample at the brewpub. This is the July selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. The beer is a clear orange color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Light, crisp body with flavors of citrusy hops and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a zesty citrus aftertaste. Decent session Pale Ale overall.
