Sample at Brothers Drake. Brownish-black color with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roast coffee and sweet malt in the nose. Medium body with a roasty character and flavors of sweetened coffee, charred malt and lactose. The finish is creamy with a lingering mild coffee aftertaste. Pretty good beer all around.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish mahogany, swirling streaks of some suspended fine particles in the glass make it look like something from a horror movie. Huge beige creamy head, very slow to dissipate, nice lacing. Aroma is very light overall and dominated by grain, caramel, and not much else. Flavor is the same, maybe a touch of whiskey, but not much, medium sweet to the point of being a bit sickly, oranges, light tartness and funkiness; tastes a bit infected to me. Some woody tannins just to round out an overall not so pleasant experience.

Hazy deep amber beer with a pale tan head. Nice fruity nose. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild carbonation. A little creamy malt with a touch of barrel induced vanilla. Mellow and slightly sour whisky. Whisper of Coca Cola and nice generic fruits. Mild sherbet in the aftertaste. Very tasty and drinkable.
