33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours dark brown with a huge light brown/orange head. Lovely yeasty and slight spiced aroma. Flavour is slight chocolate flavoured, malty and with more of that creamy yeast flavour. Medium sweet. Lingers nicely into the finish with the Belgian yeast flavours. Lovely.

From bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours maghoni brown with a lacing off-white head. Slight fruity and nutty aroma, mild malt base and some spice. Flavour is spiced on top of a caramel malt base. Cloves and cinnamon heavy flavours. Ends lingering into the finish.

Deep mahogany beer; small yellowish rim. Sourish nose with a spicy lining, not unlike resin. Black cardemompeel. Spicy, but outspoken dry taste. Again cardemom, roasted and some chocolate; getting unexpected depths. Very dry, on the verge of astringent. Alcoholwarming and despite the dryness, well-bodied. Ah, Derek, this is a good one. You might be more sceptic yourself, I like it, and to hell with styleindications. Pity about the weak nose.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is earth, herbs, some mild fruits, a bit alcohol and quite wooden. Also some burnt wooden notes are there. Flavour is really nutty along with some herbs, spices and fruits. Alcohol burning quite much.

Bottle. Frothy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Brown colour. Moderate malty and hopy aroma. Slightly metallic but that fades away. Heavy bitter flavor. Strong chocolate notes. Nice long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Great stuff.

Bottle at Pig’s Ear BF 08. Cloudy copper, lasting beige. Sweetish malt as you would expect. Honey? Maybe, yes a bit. Very sweet, honey though. Too carbonated. Fine.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Poured an amber color with off white head. The aroma was hoppy with earthy spice, slight pine. The taste was a fruity with lots of hops and alcohol. Nice carbonated feel on the tongue.

2012-11-09, draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 7-5-7-3-14=36
Dark mahogany color with creamy head. This beer has a good caramel and dark caramel character, mature, with a light nutty touch and aroma of cereals. Pleasant.
2007-11-02, Papsoe Blind Tasting, corked bottle, 4-3-5-2-8=22
Hazy red mahogany color. Very boring beer, with some round caramel flavor, and that’s all.
