Description

Pours a black colour with a tan head. Smells like smoked eel. Aroma of smoked eel, roasted malts, dark fruit, smoked ham. Taste is smoky, rather mild smoke I’d say. Carbonation is a bit heavy for this type of brew. Palate is a bit light, I wish this had more body.

Amber/orange with a white head. Aroma of malts, fruits, hops. Some malty sweetness in the flavour and a nice hoppy/spicy aftertaste. Very nice brew.

Aroma of malt, hint of honey, some caramel and hops. Flavour is quite sweet, as expected. It’s a decent brew, but far too sweet to appeal to me.

Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, some dark fruits, just a little coffee. Flavour is medium sweet, malts and chocolate. Manages to hide its alcohol well. Quaffable and enjoyable, but lacking some oomph.

Aroma of pale malt, grass, floral notes, hops. Flavour is floral and hoppy with a potent and long bitterness in the aftertaste. A lot better than most English Bitters.

Aroma of sweet malt, chocolate, caramel, toffee, dried fruits, nuts, resinous hops. Flavour is sweet and hoppy, with a potent and lasting bittersweet finish. A really good Barleywine with a relatively restrained sweetness. This actually reminds me a bit of my Barley Wine favourite Anchor Old Foghorn.

Aroma of malt, bread, speculaas, shitloads of herbs. Flavour is malty and herbal, quite sweet, unsurprisingly. A bit too sweet for my taste. Still, not a bad brew.

Aroma of malt, dried fruits, caramel, raisins, plum, chocolate. Flavour is malty and sweet with a little booziness. Finish is bittersweet. Nice Eisbock.

Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, vanilla, wood, candy sugar, hint of fruit. Flavour is sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Quite woody and noticeably different from the base beer.
