Can from Once Upon a Vine South on 05/01/2011. Dark brown body with ruby highlights and a medium creamy off white head. Sweet light roast and caramel aroma. Dry roast and light chocolate flavor with a bitter finish. Light body with moderate carbonation. 5/4/5/3/10 - 2.7 On 05/27/2005. Hazy brown color with a medium creamy light brown head, Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Chocolate and caramel flavors, but somewhat watery. A decent beer for its accessibility at most bars. 7/5/5/3/14 - 3.4

Bottled. Golden colour, ariy head. Minty wort aroma. Sweet with obvious wotr flavour, but absent of the dreaded stale raisin flavour that I hate in low alcs. Rounded mouthfeel. Not worth drinking, but also not awfully unpleasant.

Not very attractive, a watered down looking brown, a little like creme soda - but with a huge fluffy head and heavy lacing. Aroma is mild, some caramel malt, some herbal almost spicy hops, probably kent golding. Flavor quite similar, mildish. Carbonation surprisingly low for such a huge head producer, but that’s OK, the mouthfeel tended towards being almost pleasingly soft. Tending towards unbalanced bittering hops in the finish.

(Can 50 cl) Fine, dense brownish head from the nitrogen-widget (which somehow also makes this rather flat). Black as original sin, slightly burned and bitter - typical Guinness. 300503

(Bottle 33 cl) Irish version: Fat, tar-like opaque beer. Brownish, thick cappuchino-like head. Extremely potent and rich with lots of bitterness - from both hops and malts. A bit difficult to finish. 230302 (Bottle) Cameroon version: Pitch black with a brownish head. Roasted, malty nose - and a strange, indefinable not so pleasant smell. Surprisingly light-bodied, sweetish malt but yet rather dry. The notes of the burned malt are rather subdued - sort of a "stout light", but not at all unpleasant. 5/4/7/3/12=3,1 170705

(Bottle 33 cl) Pale lager with a decent head (with added "stabilizers"). Quite light in body, nice aromas and a pronounced bitterness. OK lager if not really resplendent. 100401

(Bottle 33 cl) The quintessence of Irish beer - no less. Pitch black with a pretty brownish head, albeit no nitrogen in this bottled version. Very dry, almost ashy with a lasting bitterness all the way through. The mother of dry stouts....Mine was 5% ABV. 101200
