Bottle picked up at the GJBF 2015 Osaka. Served in a tulip it has an orange-gold color with a thin filmy white head. Had I known it was a pils I would have chosen a different glass. The nose is fruity, honey malts with light hoppiness. The taste is clean malts, grassy, peppery hops and very dry. Yum.

Tap at Beer Fes Osaka 2015. Huge dry hop nose, very grassy, herbal, leafy. Glowing golden color. Sweet, oily, a bit syrupy, the Belgian yeast comes though a bit. Decent.

On tap at the GJBF Osaka. Far Yeast IPA pours a clear orange-gold color with a hoppy blood-orange & lime nose. Medium bodied with a very dry finish. The taste is fruity hops, a bit candyish and Pilsner malts in the finish. A 5% IPA? Ok but average. Not sure who added this but the version I tried was draft 5% not 7.5%

330 ml. bottle sampled @ 20ste Zomerbierfestival. Made with yuzu. Hazy golden, little white head. Nose is odd, Vicks & lemon sweet with wheat. The yuzu I suppose. Taste is wheat, light banana, bit artificial-like with sugar, candy & lemon Vicks sweetness,… Sweet candy & wheat,… Overly sweet but okay.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ 20ste Zomerbierfestival. Made with sansho pepper apparently which I have never tried. Reddish wood amber, small tanned head. Nose is light metal, very sweet red fruity, jam & syrup with light licorice-like touch, odd & interesting. Taste is akin to sweet & sugary red fruits, jam, candy, sugar mixed with some light herbal, licorice-like note, the pepper I assume, an odd but pleasant and interesting combo,… Jam-like body. Quite interesting & nice. Also very polarizing, some liked it & others didn’t.

Tap at Yokohama Beer Fest. Completely different beer to the regular Blond, it seems, and brewed elsewhere. Deep orange-amber, nice hoppy nose, I get Nelson. Spicy, citrus flavor, some caramel and bread. Full body. Nice balance. Well done hoppy later.

Bottled. Deep, shiny blonde with a large, fine, airy head. Nose is big citrus, yuzu or mikan, Not listed on the label, but I think there is some citrus added. Wheat malt, very juicy. Could be hops only? doubt it. Get a bit of the cat piss from the Nelson. Lovely citrus flavor on crisp, dry wheaty malt, peppery finish. Sweet in the middle, ends dry. Crisp. Excellent witbier. Very refreshing and quaffable, but holds up to winter cold as well. Very fruity, I think yuzu has been added, peel and juice. It has the juice in the nose. Can’t be only hops, it seems. The nose especially is very citrusy like juice. Love that spicy, peppery finish. This is a completely different beer than the last one I rated. Tap at Yokohama Beer Fest 2015 as Weizen Edition: 6/4/7/4/13. Not sure if they are different beers. Creamy, biscuity, what nose. Orange, lemon, a bit of tart and creamy yogurt. Bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Huge herbal fruit aroma. Taste is lightly bitter fruit. Tasty.

From tap at Beerfes Tokyo. Light and transparent, thin layer of foam. Aroma is slightly yeasty, fruits, maybe melon but also some fresh malts. Taste is rather unusual, based rather on the malt side, some fruity yeast. Aftertaste is has some lingering bitterness. Easy-drinking beer, reminds me a saison.

Had this bottle maybe for a year, so it has aged a bit. Very fizzy, lot of foam. Colour is dirty reddish brown. Aroma is really up to your face, full of soft herbs, sweet sticky herb liquor. Taste is fizzy, some herbs, candy sugar. Aftertaste long, some hoppy spikes of bitterness, alcohol. Very Belgian. Good!
