330ml bottle from Aldi - Hazy golden body, thin white head. Nose is yeasty, cloves, bread, little citrus, more Belgian yeast. Flavour is yeast, nuts, butter, hints of citrus, soft bitter finish. Quite surprised at this one really, most certainly not the IPA they claim it is.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax as Redchurch Norwegian Raw. Cloudy dirty-amber colour with no head. Not overly sour, but still only a sipper, with a sharp enough fruitiness in its taste. It’s fairly neutral in its nose, with maybe some grain here.

Keg at the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Light gold, only slightly hazy with a bit of white head. The saison yeast is recognisable but light, with rounding hints of soft citrus and hay. Sweet taste with less of intense nutmeggy spice so often found in these beers. Just a slight spicy-sour twist near the very end. Surprisingly thin body but then again these are labourers’ beers so you don’t want something too heavy. Key lime pie in the aftertaste. Well made and enjoyable.

On tap at Bow Bar pours a murky brown no head. Looks like iced tea. Funny because it smells like raspberry iced tea, floral too, pomegranate. Not surprisingly, tastes like raspberry iced tea, big lemon sourness too, pomegranate vinegar, some dried cherry too. Finishes tart and tannic. Interesting.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - London. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Big peaty and smokey aroma, some earth, brown bread. Medium sweet flavour with some toffee, earthy dryness, heavy peat bog, moss, toasted malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish, more peat, smoke, nips of vanilla, toasted toffee. Fun stuff.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - London. Pours clear yellow with. Creamy, white head. Crispy grain the nose, lemon peel, hay, dry cereal. Light sweet flavour with more crispy biscuits, lemon rind, pale bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, with light grassy hops, pale grain, light citrus notes, biscuits. Solid lager.

Keg at Bottle Shop Event. It pours darkest brown, near black with minimal head. The aroma is rich, sweet whisky, vanilla, toffee, cake, bakewell tart, rich wood and a hint of smoke. The bitter - sour, tangy dark fruits, wood, whisky, light spice, vinous, berry skin, funk and toasted malt with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Really nice balance to it (for a whisky lover). Tasty.

Keg at Bottle Shop. It pours lightly hazy yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, white bread, cracker, toasted grain, straw and light creaminess. The taste is crisp, fresh, creamy, mellow bitterness, grassy, straw, cracker and white pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, lively carbonation. Crazy refreshing. Good lager.

Keg at Bottle Shop event. It pours darkest brown with minimal head. The aroma is rich, oily, plenty of dark fruit, berry, fruit cake, smoke, rich Islam whisky, toffee, honeycomb, toasted marshmallow, hint of solvent and jam. The taste is bitter, dry, spicy, medicinal, Dandelion & Burdock, charred roasted malts, some alcohol, cola, tar and smoke with a warming, peppery finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Aroma stands out, but the taste is a touch too medicinal.

Keg at the Bottle Shop. It pours jet black with minima head. The aroma is earthy roast, funk, damp wood, berry skin, cocoa, yogurt, Dandelion & Burdock. The taste is sour and bitter, vinous, berry skin, grape skin, must, tannin, funk, tangy fruits and some acidity with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Works rather well.
