Great? No. It’s a light lager in a clear bottle. But honestly, it’s quite refreshing on a warm Philippine evening. Reminded me a bit of Corona, though better. Wouldn’t touch this stuff outside the country given the clear bottle an all.

Bought the 1000ml bottle at a little shop in the Philippines. Pretty easy to drink, no foul odors or flavors. On the other hand it is just another pale lager. I prefer SM’s Red Horse to this.

Bought at a shop in Angeles City. Surprisingly easy to drink and not offensive. Most San Miguel products I’ve had have been skunked, but this being bought fairly fresh in the P.I. it didn’t have any foul odors or flavors. One of the better malt liquors I’ve had, actually.

That’s right, Red Horse baby!! Ya!!
Pours clear gold with thin white head. The aroma is pretty strong with sweet sugary malts, some spice hops, some cereal and some off notes that are, well off. The high level of carbonation explodes with sweet white table sugar malts, mild spice hops mixed with some malt staleness sometimes found in organic beers. Being the label states “World Class Premium Malt Liquor” the score must suffer since it just doesn’t taste good. Who are they fooling with this World Class Premium nonsense?

Re-rate 4/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Ariel. Slightly grainy, slightly bitter. Pretty clean. 3/2/4/2/8=1.9
Bottle. A yellow beer with a quickly-diminishing medium white head. Sweetish cereal aroma. Sweetish and adjuncty flavor, with faint hints of bitterness in the finish. Very thin and light bodied. Very little flavor in this beer, but it’s also quite clean and there’s nothing very offensive about it. At least I kind of like the label design. 3/2/3/1/5=1.4

Ubiquitous pale yellow appearance. Friendly attitude. Medium carbonation. Good example of a well mannered pale lager. Passable finish and it does not offend. Not as good as their dark brew.

Land #66 Herber, etwas muffiger Antrunk. Untertönig ist das Bier zumindest im Antrunk noch würzig und etwas hopfig, durch eine aufkommende Verwässerung fällt dies weg. Daher wird das Bier zunehmend langweiliger, bleibt aber immerhin spritzig. Wässrig-herber Abgang. Test vom 13.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,8,8,8,8 - 8,00

Bottle. Body is a fizzy gold that leaves a bit of a head. Aromas are of sweet malt and floral hops. Flavor is decent, even if it is rather uninspiring. Peppery and grassy hops are the highlight.

Slight roasty aroma. Dark, looks and smells somewhat like root beer. Many american dark lagers look like this. Taste is well behaved. Very little detectable bitterness. Comes across like a mild enjoyable porter. An easy to drink dark beer. Finish is non assuming burned wood and is just the right amount of personality to let you know its beer. Not bad.

320ml bottle that looks like it’s survived both world wars both considering the design and the wear on it, brought from Switzerland by a friend (thanks Ivana!) Darj yellow going golden body with almost no head... nose... rice, some fruity maltiness. Ugh. Light medicinal flavour, rice, medicine, cardboard, weak maltiness, and if I stretch my imagination, a note of hops. Pleasant, silky mouthfeel, but the taste is ugly. Drinkable, but still crap. Still, it’s my first beer from the Philippines.
